November 26, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:

Sir Elton John thinks he is singing better than everLegendary singer-songwriter Elton John, at 78, is opening up about his current vocal form — and by his own words, it’s the best it’s ever been. Despite stepping back from large-scale touring after his 2023 farewell tour, Elton remains musically active, performing private shows and working on new music — and he says his voice and playing have never sounded stronger.

From retirement to reinvigoration

After wrapping up his farewell-tour in 2023, Elton didn’t vanish from music. Instead, he’s taken on a different rhythm: “I’ll have done 11 private shows by the end of the year, which I’ve never done in my life — some solo, some with the band,” he told the press. He admits that after losing sight in his right eye, performing was a concern — “I was terrified I wouldn’t be able to see the piano keys or the microphone.”

Yet, once he got back behind the piano, something clicked: “I can see, because everything’s so close up… But I tell you what — I’m singing better than I’ve ever done before, and I’m playing really well, and I’m enjoying it.”

New music & a renewed creative fire

Elton isn’t only looking back — he’s looking forward. He revealed plans to return to the studio with longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin, aiming for a new, more modern record following his recent album with Brandi Carlile. In his own words, the new material may break fresh ground, reflecting where he is in 2025.

He said of his most recent album “the voice on this record is probably the best it’s ever been.”

Why this matters — a legend still evolving

  • For fans of classics like “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” or “I’m Still Standing,” this is a chance to re-experience Elton with a renewed vocal strength and emotional weight.

  • For listeners who love evolution in music: here’s proof that age doesn’t necessarily mean decline — for Elton, it’s brought refinement and resilience.

  • For radio stations like ours: this comeback — subtle yet profound — shows that great music doesn’t retire; it simply evolves.

At Radio 854 — where we mix oldies, pop and timeless hits — this news is a reminder: legends don’t just fade away… sometimes they return, stronger and wiser than ever.
