Ariana Grande is teasing a bold new era for her upcoming album Petal, describing the project as “a little feral” and unlike anything she has explored before.

In a new Instagram video shared with fans, the pop superstar opened up about the creative direction behind her eighth studio album, which arrives on July 31. Grande explained that the record comes from a much more fearless and uninhibited place emotionally.

“It’s definitely from a place that I have been maybe too shy or polite to tap into before,” she said. “This kind of just feels like, ‘f*** it.’”

Grande revealed that Petal focuses on breaking free from negativity and emotional baggage, whether that comes from internal struggles or outside pressures. She described the album as being about growth and healing through difficult experiences.

The singer first announced the album in April, calling it “something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”

Fans are already speculating that Petal could showcase a more daring and experimental sound from the Grammy-winning artist. Online reactions have compared the teased energy to some of Grande’s more confident and powerful past eras, with many excited to hear her “feral” side fully unleashed.
