May 8, 2026 – Radio 854 Music News:
Billie Eilish has defended fans who film concerts on their phones, insisting it’s simply part of how younger generations experience live music today.
Speaking while promoting her new 3D concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, the singer said she doesn’t see an issue with audiences recording moments during shows. Instead, Eilish believes phones have become a natural extension of modern concert culture.
The Grammy-winning star also gave fans an exciting update on her next album, revealing that she and brother and longtime collaborator Finneas O’Connell are already deep into the creative process.
“Oh yeah! We’re more than halfway [done],” Eilish said in a recent interview, adding: “We’re deep in it.”
The upcoming project will follow her hugely successful 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft, which produced global hits including “Birds of a Feather” and “Lunch.” The album became one of the biggest streaming releases of the year and further cemented Eilish as one of pop music’s biggest stars.
Eilish has remained one of the most influential artists of her generation, known not only for her music but also for her outspoken views on sustainability, social issues and fan culture. Her comments about “phone culture” have already sparked debate online, with some agreeing that filming concerts is part of modern fandom while others argue it takes away from the live experience.
No release date has been announced yet for Eilish’s fourth studio album, but fans clearly won’t have to wait too much longer.
