BTS Insist They Are ‘Not Involved in Any Capacity’ With Michael Jackson Tribute Album

K-pop superstars BTS have officially denied any involvement in the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute album, following widespread online speculation and misleading reports.

Earlier this week, buzz circulated that the globally renowned group would be contributing a track to the project honoring the King of Pop. However, a spokesperson for BTS’ agency, BigHit Music, has shut down the rumors, stating, “BTS is not involved in any capacity with the Michael Jackson tribute album. Any reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.”

The confusion appeared to stem from online fan discussions and an unofficial tracklist that circulated on social media. The rumored list falsely included BTS among other high-profile names like Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Doja Cat.

Fans of both BTS and Michael Jackson were quick to speculate about a potential collaboration, especially given BTS’s well-known admiration for Jackson’s legacy. But BigHit’s statement makes it clear: the septet is currently focused on their individual activities and military service commitments.

The tribute album, which is reportedly in development to mark what would have been Jackson’s 70th birthday in 2028, has not yet revealed an official lineup. The project is said to be spearheaded by members of the late singer’s estate in partnership with major industry figures.
