January 18, 2026 – Radio 854 Music News:
A couple behind a major ticket fraud operation involving concerts by Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga have been ordered by a court to repay more than £3 million after scamming thousands of music fans.
The pair illegally sold tickets to some of the world’s biggest live shows, including Ed Sheeran’s stadium tours and Lady Gaga performances, advertising seats they did not own or had no right to sell. In many cases, fans either received invalid tickets or nothing at all, only discovering the fraud when they were denied entry at venues.
Investigators revealed that the couple used multiple online platforms and false identities to make the operation appear legitimate, targeting high-demand events where fans were willing to pay premium prices. The scheme is believed to have affected more than 6,000 victims across the UK and internationally.
Following a confiscation hearing, the court ruled that the couple must repay £3 million under proceeds-of-crime laws, reflecting the profits made from the fraudulent sales. Failure to pay could result in additional prison sentences.
Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga were not personally involved in the case, but their tours were among the most exploited due to overwhelming demand and rapid sell-outs.
Authorities have once again urged fans to purchase tickets only through official vendors or authorised resale platforms, warning that ticket fraud remains one of the most common scams linked to major live music events.
