October 28, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:

Pop star Jessie J has opened up about her emotional and physical journey after announcing that a second surgery in her breast-cancer treatment has been delayed, despite having already cancelled major tour dates in preparation.
In a recent Instagram video, Jessie revealed that she was scheduled to undergo a second procedure two weeks ago, but after a consultation and referral to a second surgeon, the decision was made that the operation could wait for now.
She explained:
“I was supposed to have a second breast surgery two weeks ago. A week before my surgery I went to my surgeon… it felt a little more complex … referred to a different surgeon… who said: ‘I think this can wait a little while.’”
Jessie admitted she feels “obviously… frustrated”, especially since she had already cancelled her U.S. tour in preparation for the surgery.
She announced in June 2025 that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
A procedure followed, and she has been open about navigating treatment, recovery and motherhood during this time.
The cancelled plans include major U.S. and European tour dates originally intended for later in the year.
The delays highlight the unpredictability of cancer treatment, even for a high-profile artist.
Tour logistics: Jessie’s U.S. concerts were cancelled and her UK/Europe shows have been rescheduled for April 2026.
Despite the frustration, she emphasised that the decision is about health first:
“I need to be better, I need to be healed.”
For listeners of Radio 854, who tune into her music — hits like “Domino” and “Bang Bang” — this is a moment of vulnerability and strength, and an important reminder of the person behind the songs.
Vulnerability in the spotlight: Jessie J choosing to share this with her fans strengthens the connection between artist and audience.
Health prioritised over business: With tour dates and albums, the remapping of plans shows a prioritisation of well-being.
Hope and resilience: Even as plans change, she maintains a forward-looking attitude — giving listeners and supporters a narrative of courage.
Relevance to your station’s format: Radio 854, which covers pop, oldies and Top 40, can reflect on the story as part of how artists evolve beyond their hits.
On-air mention: “You know her for Bang Bang and Price Tag, but right now our star Jessie J is facing a challenge bigger than the charts. She postponed surgery, cancelled a tour — but she’s still fighting and sharing the journey.”
