Kings Of LeonKings of Leon Cancel UK and European Tour Following ‘Freak Accident’

American rock band Kings of Leon have announced the cancellation of their upcoming UK and European tour dates after lead singer Caleb Followill suffered a serious injury in a “freak accident.” The 43-year-old frontman shattered his heel while playing with his children at home in Nashville, Tennessee, requiring emergency surgery.

In a video message shared on the band’s Instagram account, Followill expressed his regret over the cancellations, stating, “I’ve broken my foot pretty bad playing with my kids. It’s pretty gnarly, and I’ll spare you all the details.” He added that doctors have advised him to avoid travel and performing for approximately eight weeks during his recovery.

The band’s statement confirmed the cancellation of all upcoming UK and European festival headline shows in June and July 2025. This includes scheduled performances at Cardiff’s Blackweir Fields on June 29 and Lancashire’s Lytham Festival on July 2. Organizers of both events have announced that ticket holders will receive full refunds.

Kings of Leon had been preparing to debut new material from recent studio sessions during the tour. Despite the setback, the band plans to continue working on new music during Followill’s recovery. They have already rescheduled their Paris show for September 3 and are still set to perform with Zach Bryan at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey from July 18–20, along with additional dates in August and September.

Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled UK and European shows are advised to contact the respective event organizers for refund information. The band expressed their disappointment over the cancellations and conveyed their hopes for Caleb’s swift recovery.

Kings of Leon, formed in 1999, have achieved international success with hits like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody.” Their latest album, Can We Please Have Fun, was released in May 2024.
