Laura van Dam began playing turntables at the age of twelve. At eighteen, she left her hometown for Amsterdam to study music in Engineering & Electronic Music Production.

Van Dam started out as a DJ under various names. In her early years, she DJed with Don Diablo in India. Later, she adopted the stage name Laura van Dam, as a tribute to her hometown of Amsterdam.

Van Dam met fellow DJ Armin van Buuren during a radio show hosted by Sander van Doorn. Since then, Van Dam has released her music on the label Armind, the Label. She also worked for Van Doorn’s label.[2]

Van Dam has since performed at major festivals, such as Mysteryland and Tomorrowland.
