Luc van Turnhout presents De Platenkast from 11am to 1pm

Born on September 9, 1963, and active in the radio world since 1982—a passion that has shaped my life for over four decades.

I took my first steps in my home town of Herenthout, where I helped found the local radio station. Those pioneering years were intense, instructive, and laid the solid foundation for everything that followed. I remained active in Herenthout until the early 1990s, when, at the invitation of Peter De Groot (Mariën), I moved to KICK FM in Herentals. There, I worked with radio producers Ben Van Praag and Mark Hermans, two names who certainly need no introduction in the radio world.

After my time at KICK FM, I was given the opportunity to become program director at Radio Contact Geel. A role in which I could fully utilize my creativity, organizational talent, and musical knowledge. At the same time, I designed and managed Infokempen, a local information resource that provided radio stations in the Kempen region with relevant content and news. Infokempen grew into a valued resource for many local stations.

After my time at Contact, I returned to my roots in Herenthout, where I remain active in the radio world to this day. My experience, established network, and love of music remain the driving force behind everything I do.
