December 8, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:
At the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash in Los Angeles, Miley Cyrus offered a hopeful update on the condition of her godmother, Dolly Parton — after recent health concerns had forced the country music legend to take a step back.
During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Miley stressed that Dolly is “excited to get back to work.” She said, “She’s always gonna keep the show going … The show must go on.”
The 79-year-old Parton had to pull back from multiple engagements after suffering from a kidney stone that caused an infection — a problem serious enough to prompt medical treatment and lead to some postponed commitments.
As a result, she postponed a planned Las Vegas residency, originally scheduled for December 2025. That residency is now expected to be rescheduled.
Earlier, Dolly posted a message saying that while she had “a few health challenges,” there’s nothing life-threatening. In her words: “I’m not ready to die yet” — reflecting her trademark humour and resilience.
She also admitted that in the wake of her husband’s passing, she had neglected her health, but now is taking steps to recover: “When I got around to it, the doctors said we need to take care of this … Nothing major.”
Thanks to Miley’s update — and Dolly’s own statements — fans can breathe a sigh of relief. While she might be laying low for a while, Dolly Parton appears to be on the mend and in good spirits, looking forward to returning to music and live performances. The postponed shows are not cancelled permanently — and the legend’s will to “keep the show going” remains strong.
