October 4, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:
British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean has responded with good humor to the wave of viral reactions by men to her song So Easy (To Fall in Love). What began as a women-centred track now has men happily posting themselves enjoying it — and Dean thinks that’s pretty funny.
In a recent interview with Elle, Dean explained that she wrote So Easy (To Fall in Love) “specifically to uplift other women.” But she’s delighted — and amused — to see men also embracing it:
“It’s hilarious!” she said, going on: “It’s actually so sweet that straight men are enjoying the song in that way… if they’re enjoying my music, go off, my straight kings. You thirst trap away.”
At the same time, she cautions women to “keep (their) wits about (them).”
Dean says the track was born from conversations with friends: too often, on early dates, people obsess over whether someone else is into them instead of asking themselves, “Do I like this person?” The lyric “You’d be really easy to fall in love with” is meant as a reassurance — a reminder that sometimes you are worthy of being loved.
So Easy (To Fall in Love) appears on Dean’s second album, The Art of Loving, released September 26, 2025. As the album explores love in its many forms, Dean’s voice is increasingly confident — and she seems comfortable letting listeners’ interpretations run wild.
