December 7, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:
British singer-songwriter RAYE has made it clear: her long-awaited second album is not going to be rushed — even if that means waiting a little longer. 😌
According to recent reports, RAYE is “weeks behind schedule” on finishing her second record, the follow-up to her 2023 debut album My 21st Century Blues. But record-company pressure to release ahead of her upcoming tour hasn’t swayed her.
A source close to the singer described her as a “perfectionist” who won’t settle for “just okay” — every track must meet her own standard of quality before she gives the green light.
In her own words, the album “isn’t ready yet” — she even likened it to a cup of tea that’s still brewing.
The delay comes on top of a difficult chapter: In October 2024 RAYE’s car was stolen — with all her songwriting notebooks inside. At the time she said “no second album any time soon.”
But there’s good news: the car and books were recovered in 2025 — intact and untouched.
That recovery gave RAYE a renewed chance to shape her new songs the way she wants them.
The first taste of the new era came with her 2025 single Where Is My Husband! — believed to be part of the upcoming album.
Fans and critics are expecting the album to continue blending R&B, soul, pop and jazzy influences — a path she already carved on her debut. Given her perfectionism, this could end up being one of her most ambitious works yet.
No official release date, album title or track list has been announced — but insiders hint the album could arrive sometime in 2026.
RAYE refusing to rush her album shows that she cares more about artistry over speed. In an era of streaming and instant drops, she’s devoting time to sculpting a record she feels proud of: honest, powerful and refined.
For fans: it means the wait will likely pay off. And when the album drops — whenever that is — it might well be worth every second of patience.
