W Magazine and music outlets confirm today: Lana Del Rey has officially renamed her highly anticipated tenth studio album Stove. The project, which initially carried the working title Lasso before being temporarily referred to as The Right Person Will Stay, has now arrived at its most pared-down—and enigmatic—title yet.
The album’s transformation reflects more than a change in name. Del Rey revealed the delay stemmed from her desire to include six new, deeply autobiographical songs—tracks that developed into something more intimate than she initially anticipated, thereby reshaping both the album’s content and tone.
Fans have already heard early glimpses of this country-tinged direction, with two singles released in April: “Henry, Come On” and “Bluebird,” both co-written and produced alongside Nashville songwriter Luke Laird (with additional production from Drew Erickson and Jack Antonoff).
Lana Del Rey continues to lean into country storytelling:
She mentions working with Luke Laird and Jack Antonoff, noting that the album maintains a pronounced country aesthetic .
The album includes a deeply personal track, “Stars Fell on Alabama” (also referred to as “Husband of Mine”), written about her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, a Louisiana swamp tour guide. Del Rey performs it as her show opener.
The new, final title comes with a release schedule: Stove is likely to arrive in late January 2026 — though an exact date hasn’t been confirmed.
The shift to Stove—a minimalist, domestic object—has sparked mixed reactions from fans. Some Reddit users question the emotional resonance of the name:
“Stove? I hope she’s just using that stove to cook up another title.”
“I hate it honestly. It means nothing, it doesn’t evoke anything from me either.”
“If it’s a Plath reference… yes… But even if it wasn’t, I still prefer it to the other.”
Whether the title nods to Sylvia Plath, domestic imagery, or simply captures a mood is yet to be revealed—but its stark simplicity stands in sharp contrast to her notoriously poetic album names like Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
Album title: Stove (finalized after Lasso → The Right Person Will Stay)
Reason for renaming/delay: Addition of six deeply autobiographical tracks
Genre shift: Strong country/Americana influence
Singles released: “Henry, Come On” (April 11) and “Bluebird” (April 18)
Release window: Expected late January 2026
Fan reactions: Mixed—some intrigued, others puzzled by the title’s simplicity
This adds yet another chapter to Lana Del Rey’s compelling album rollout saga—one that embraces rootsy storytelling while keeping us guessing.
