November 25, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:
Ariana Grande recently opened up in a candid interview about how her return to acting has deeply influenced her outlook on her music career — especially her relationship with touring. Speaking with Nicole Kidman for Interview magazine, Grande revealed that taking on the role of Glinda in Wicked (and its sequel) has given her new strength, perspective and healing.
Grande said she’s been “healing … her relationship to music and touring” over the past few years.
According to her, the process involved “redoing her system” around making music. The time she stepped away from music allowed her to separate the pressures that come with fame from her pure love of creating.
A big part of this transformation, Grande says, comes from her acting in Wicked. Playing Glinda helped her “build the strength” she needed to confront and let go of old traumas tied to touring and being in the public eye.
She explained that some of the “feelings that maybe belonged to [her] relationship to fame … the things that come with being an artist” have now been put “in a box somewhere else.” Over time, she says she’s seen those negative emotions begin to “dissipate” — a process she calls “such an extraordinarily beautiful thing.”
Grande also admitted that the very start of her pop superstardom was overwhelming — she went through a “tricky adjustment period” when her career suddenly exploded. But now, thanks to acting, she feels more rooted and “so grateful to be able to do what I love.”
She described her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour (2026) as an opportunity to re-engage with her art in a way that feels much more genuine — not just for the fans, but for her soul.
Why this matters to Radio 854 listeners
Ariana’s journey shows how even global superstars need to re-evaluate and heal — a powerful reminder that the business of being an artist can take a heavy emotional toll.
Her healing through acting is tied closely to her next music era — the Eternal Sunshine tour feels less like a grind, more like a personal celebration.
It reinforces a trend: more and more musicians are turning to other artistic outlets (acting, theatre, writing) to stay inspired and balanced.
