September 17, 2025 – Radio 854 Music News:
Ed Sheeran has opened up about how not all of his songs are sunshine and roses — some reflect the real struggles and tension in his marriage with Cherry Seaborn. He says that being honest in his music isn’t just about sharing the good stuff.
At a Spotify Q&A in London, Ed told fans, “Cherry knows I write about everything — not just the good stuff. Songs like Perfect exist, but so do the ones about real conflict. That’s part of any relationship, and I think it’s important to be honest about it.”
He admitted there are tracks that talk about the tougher parts of life: fighting, emotional distance, balancing parental and work responsibilities. The message? Relationships aren’t only about the highs, and his music tries to capture that full picture.
Sheeran also revealed that while earlier in his career his life was almost entirely focused on work, things have shifted. Now, family takes up more space: about “70 percent family, 30 percent music.” He believes balance isn’t just healthier — it’s part of his definition of success.
He’s a father of two — daughters Lyra and Jupiter — and the pressures of touring, fame, and being present for his family have clearly influenced both his outlook and his songwriting.
Ed’s willingness to write about friction, regret, guilt, and the normal tensions in marriage gives his music a kind of emotional honesty that many listeners connect with. It reminds us that even in relationships that seem perfect from the outside, there are moments of doubt, mistakes, and learning. For fans, it’s powerful to see a star not hiding those parts, but using them as fuel for creativity and connection.
